Rainsville WWTP
Owner: City of Rainsville, Alabama
The Rainsville Wastewater Treatment Plant is located in Rainsville, Alabama. The facility was expanded to treat a total of 1.5 million gallons of wastewater a day. The expansion will provide the city the ability to attract industrial customers to the greater DeKalb County area.
P. F. Moon performed modifications to the existing grit structure and influent raw sewage pump station, constructed a new bar screen structure, built one (1) new counter current aeration basin, two (2) new circular clarifiers, a sludge transfer pump station and an ultraviolet disinfection facility. Along with these major structures, new meter vaults, an electrical and control building, a maintenance shop and miscellaneous underground piping systems were installed. The project was complete in under one year from notice to proceed, well under the allotted contract time of 455 days.
